5 Reasons Why You Are Greater Than You Think You Are

Humans have a tendency to degrade ourselves.  We sell ourselves short all the time and don't give ourselves the credit we deserve. I have compiled 5 reasons why we should love ourselves and recognize that we are greater than we think we are. Enjoy!

You Have an Eternal Identity
Each of us are sons and daughters of God. We are all heirs to His kingdom. We are princes and princesses of divine legacy. Nobody can take your identity away from you. Your Father in Heaven loves you an infinite amount. When you understand where you came from as a person, your worth increases substantially. You are royalty.

Your Actions Don’t Define Who You Are
Nobody on this earth is perfect, except Jesus Christ, which means that every single one of us makes mistakes. We are all striving to become better and it is hard for everyone. Just because you make a mistake does not mean you are worthless and insignificant to the world. You have the opportunity to move on from your past and become someone even more amazing.

You Have SPECIAL Gifts
There are billions of people on this earth, but there is only one YOU. There is so much potential in one single body. We were all blessed with talents and things we are good at that are beneficial to us and to others. If you are a good listener, YOU ROCK. If you can play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star on the piano, YOU ROCK. If you can complete an entire semester of Bio Statistics, YOU ROCK. Nobody can take your gifts away from you, so celebrate your successes and the talents your Heavenly Father has given you.

Your Imperfections Are Beautiful
No matter how much people hate admitting that they have stretch marks, fat rolls, or acne, it is just something that humans have. These things make us so self conscious and depressed because we compare ourselves to other people. Guess what? Since everyone has these imperfections, we have every reason to be excited about ourselves. We are beautiful because we are imperfect. We are left with so much room to grow and improve ourselves far deeper than through physical appearance.

You Are Doing Just Fine:
It is so important to celebrate little successes in yourself to have self love. If you are constantly degrading yourself about how bad your hair looks, how oily your skin is, how bad you are at math, or how unfriendly you are to people, you will continue having a low self esteem. Elder Jeffrey R. Holland once said, “Be peaceful. Believe in God and yourself. You are doing better than you think you are.” I want to stress that last part to you again that YOU ARE DOING BETTER THAN YOU THINK YOU ARE.

Loving yourself is so important. How are you supposed to love your neighbor if you don't love yourself? I hope you will realize how amazing you are. Your worth is so great. I want you to love yourself HARD and remind yourself of these 5 points. Tell yourself how awesome you are!
